Leaving the Kasbah, we continue our drive over Tizi-n-Tichka Pass Road. Gradually the arid, barren landscape begins to "green" up.
In the village of Taddert, we stop at an local Argan Oil cooperative run exclusively by Berber women. Here we watch how the nuts are cracked by hand and then ground to extract the precious and pricey oil that is used in cooking, health and beauty products.

After making our purchases, we continue down Tizi-n-Ait Imger Pass (4,825 feet). Here the precipitously steep and winding road is lined with vendor stalls selling pottery, mineral rocks, and textiles. The views looking north open to beautiful green fields and rolling hills — a refreshing visual change from the arid earth tones of the past several days!
Then we reach Marrakech — back to big city, hustle and bustle, two-stroke engines, noise, and the next leg of our Morocco adventure!
